In 40 lessons, you learn everything you need to work as an all-round barber. You attend one day a week for an academic year, totalling 180 teaching hours. With commitment and motivation, you build a solid foundation for your career.
The 40 lessons are for you if you are serious about training and working as an all-round barber. You need motivation, not experience. Already completed the 20 lessons? Progress straight to this course and build on your skills.
The final project is unique to the 40 lessons. Together with your fellow students, you create your first hair show. Everything you have learnt comes together: you take a concept through to creation and present your work on the last day of the academic year, at the hair show and certificate ceremony.

In 20 lessons, one day a week for around five months, Dario teaches you the basics of the craft. The course content forms the starting point of the full course.
Not sure whether barbering is for you? Or want to master the basics before committing to a full course? The 20 lessons are the perfect first step. No experience needed: you start from the beginning, with Dario as your teacher.
After 90 teaching hours, you have mastered the basics of cutting and fading and can work confidently behind the chair. Want more? Progress straight to the full 40-lesson barber course.
The full course covers every topic below in depth. The foundation course focuses on cutting and fading.
Hair theory is one of the most important aspects of the craft. You learn technical drawing and how to think and work in shapes. Few barbers truly master this skill, and it gives you a head start in the job market.
Know exactly when to use each comb, pair of scissors or clipper. You learn to maintain your scissors and properly clean and adjust your clippers. Good preparation is half the job.
Asking the right questions to find out what a client wants is an art in itself. You add your own advice and expertise. Clear communication builds trust and gives every haircut a good start.
With the craft evolving so quickly, learning to cut properly is essential. Block and point cutting, scissor-over-comb, slicing and using thinning scissors: every aspect of scissor work is covered in depth.
Fading makes up 70 to 80 per cent of a barber’s daily work, and we prepare you for it. You work with clippers, trimmers and shavers until your tools and fading techniques feel second nature.
Blow-drying and styling are the ideal way to show off your work. Heat lets you temporarily reshape the hair, with or without volume. You also learn to use a diffuser, ideal for natural flow haircuts and curly hair.
A clean straight-razor shave and beard care are essential if you want to work in a barbershop. You learn to use your razor calmly and precisely and bring balance to beards of any size.
In the Netherlands, you will work with every hair texture. European hair behaves very differently from Asian or afro hair, and each texture calls for different techniques. As an all-round barber, you learn to give every client top-quality service.
How do you approach a long or oval face? Where are the widest points of the head, and why does that matter? You learn to assess what you see and feel, and adapt your approach to your client’s features.
Selling is part of the craft too. Good product knowledge helps you give better advice on care at home. You help your client and get more out of every appointment.
A good barber offers more than a good haircut. You learn to make every appointment a premium experience that keeps clients coming back.
Every topic, taught by Dario himself.

Wanted to be a tattoo artist, walked past a barbershop with a tattoo studio and was hooked straight away. Hopes to teach the craft to others one day.
